What Are Craps?

You’ve probably heard of people playing craps before although it isn’t as popular as many of the other games that people like to bet and gamble with. Craps is a dice game that involves rolling two dice in order to try and get seven or eleven. If you manage to do this, you win! However, if you end up rolling a two, a three or a twelve, it means that you have lost the game. If you roll anything else, you get the chance to roll again. This game can be so much fun and basically anyone can play it, young or old. What’s even more fun though, is gambling on it. This makes table craps one of the quickest and most entertaining ways to make money and have a great time doing it. Gambling craps can get quite tense though so be sure to prepare yourself.

Rules to Craps

When handling the dice, you are not allowed to give certain flicks or to damage the dice in any way, shape or form. You are only allowed to use one hand when rolling the dice and they must hit the wall on the other side of the table. Failure to adhere to this will mean your disqualification. Each player has a chance to roll the dice in a clockwise system. Before the dice can be played again they have to be checked. Normally a “stickman” will do the checking to ensure that there is nothing abnormal about them after their roll.
If the player hits two, three or twelve, they will lose their pass-line bets. The pass-line bet stays until it is won or lost and is shown in the form of chips. If the shooter rolls a seven (also known as a seven out) the round ends and they are the winner. New bets must be made between dice rolls and games at allocated timings. This is also when losing bets pay out.

Win at Craps

There are many people who think that having craps strategies can help you win. While this isn’t entirely untrue, it’s extremely difficult, especially because so much emphasis is placed on monitoring players and checking dice constantly. Don’t expect to win at craps on your first time necessarily. However, if as a beginner you want to formulate some sort of strategy before you hit the table, try this. The most important bet that you need to know about is the pass-line bet. Once you have this one down, you can start to experiment with the rest of them.
Basically, you put your money on the pass-line when it’s the come out roll (the first one after a loss in the last round). If a seven or eleven is rolled, you’ve won money. If you hit a two, three or a twelve, then you’ve lost it. Don’t bet on the pass-line after this role because the value of your winnings will become significantly less. You could also try the “don’t pass” bet option which wins on the losing numbers of the pass-line bet and loses on the seven or eleven.
